How far I’ll (you’ll) go
Have you seen the movie Moana!?
Do you love it as much as I do? I mean I’ve probably seen it 40 times, thanks to my 3.5 yo who loves it. Gratefully I love it as much as he does.
When he plays and pretends to be the demigod Maui, I play along and pretend to be Moana’s grandma, the “village crazy lady” Gramma Tala.
I love Gramma Tala, her no-nonsense way of talking, her desire to become a manta ray when she goes to the other side, and most of all, the way that she guides her granddaughter Moana to search insider herself for her inner truth to guide her.
She tells Moana, “You know who you are.”
If you don’t already know, in the movie, our fem protagonist Moana is a teen with a vision and exploration in her heart. While her dad the chief of the island prevents anyone from going beyond the reef, and tells Moana how she should stay put and be the chief of the island.
But for Moana and her wanderlust, she can’t abide, she knows that so much exists for her beyond the reef.
And Gramma Tala who is the chief’s mom doesn’t abide to his rules, and instead eggs Moana to come to her own discoveries of her inner explorer truth.
Gramma Tala is who I aspire to be when I’m helping women business owners.
Rather than telling people what they should or shouldn’t be doing. (Ugh, I freaking hate should-ing… )I help guide women business owners to make the decisions that are right for them and their specific brand. And then motivating and encouraging them to take brave inspired action to manifest those decisions.
And like the ancient Hawaiians and other Polynesian explorers that traveled the vast Pacific Ocean, I too use the stars to navigate and help my customers realize where they are, where they came from and where they want to go.
The greatest journey for my customers is to go inward and illuminate who they really are.
The song How Far I’ll Go from Moana says:
See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me
And no one knows, how far it goes
If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me
One day I’ll know, if I go there’s just no telling how far I’ll go
How far will you go? Do you dare to live your brand’s truth and share your vision with the world?
Do you dare to brand who you are?
If you feel the calling that I might be your guide along your branding journey, I’ll help you illuminate your way.
